Sources: The research that led to this catalog was supported by Fulbright Hungary Grant No. 1222202, awarded to H. Hargitai for research at USGS Astrogeology, Flagstaff, Arizona (advisor: Trent Hare), and by the ICA Commission on Planetary Cartography (advisor: Kira Shingareva). Most of the data is based on the inventory of the map library of USGS Astrogeology.

Sample pages from the Phobos Atlas
The atlas is dedicated to the memory of L.M. Bugaevsky (18.03.1921 – 04.08.2010) and K.B. Shingareva (09.01.1938 – 15.09.2013) who contributed greatly to the development of the first Russian map and globe of Phobos. To maintain the continuity with the results of the previous Phobos mapping (see back endpaper), the atlas includes a new map of Phobos surface (see front endpaper), which shows the Martian satellite in normal conformal cylindrical projection for triaxial ellipsoid developed by L.M. Bugaevsky and in the original layout proposed by K.B. Shingareva.
