Sources: The research that led to this catalog was supported by Fulbright Hungary Grant No. 1222202, awarded to H. Hargitai for research at USGS Astrogeology, Flagstaff, Arizona (advisor: Trent Hare), and by the ICA Commission on Planetary Cartography (advisor: Kira Shingareva). Most of the data is based on the inventory of the map library of USGS Astrogeology.

Глобус Луны составлен по фотографиям, полученным автоматической межпланетной станцией 7 октября 1959 года и материалам Атласа обратной стороны Луны, Центральным научно-исследовательским институтом геодезии, аэросъемки и картографии совместно с Государственным астрономическим институтом им. П. К. Штернберга. Видимая с земли часть лунной поверхности воспроизведена по современным картам.

The lunar globe was compiled from photographs obtained by the automatic interplanetary station on October 7, 1959, and from materials of the Atlas of the Far Side of the Moon, by the Central Research Institute of Geodesy, Aerial Surveying and Cartography jointly with the P. K. Sternberg State Astronomical Institute. The part of the lunar surface visible from Earth is reproduced from contemporary maps.
