The first Mars globe of 1989. Based on Mariner, Viking and Mars spacecrafts. The source material for relief shading was a map of Mars of 1:15M (Shaded relief maps of the eastern, western and polar regions of Mars USGS 1985). Relief shading of Mars was shown in a method halfthone shading which made by V.D. Stushnova. The globe also showed albedo. (Shingareva 2009)
Transformation of image from the Mercator projection map to the globe projection was made in GAISH by V.I. Tsikmatsev on spherical screen, using an analogue method developed earlier. (Rodionova 1991)
